Devops Engineer • Lead

Who you are

You have extensive experience in infrastructure development, utilizing diverse approaches to evaluate challenges from both technical and operational perspectives. As a knowledgeable expert, you ensure that your team and clients understand operational requirements, sharing the responsibility for designing and implementing infrastructure for software services. You are adept at adopting a DevOps mindset, moving away from rigid traditional methods towards a customer-centric agile approach.

You possess the ability to design and build enterprise-level hosting platforms, seamlessly managing application servers, web servers, and databases. Your deep understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies enables you to lead infrastructure and operations using DevOps principles and agile methodologies. You have hands-on experience with server virtualization, IaaS, PaaS, and configuration management tools, and you are proficient in at least one scripting language, with familiarity in building Linux and/or Windows server systems.

You enjoy collaborating with team members across the organization and have a knack for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You thrive on creating robust, scalable, and relevant solutions that help transform businesses and industries. Your ability to work directly with infrastructure technicians, support analysts, security analysts, system administrators, and IT managers allows you to design technical strategies while consulting with senior IT teams.

Desirable

Experience with unit testing and automated testing tools is a plus, as is familiarity with observability patterns and monitoring systems for stress and performance testing. You have worked with distributed tracing, log aggregation, audit logging, exception tracking, health check APIs, application metrics, and self-healing/multi-cloud environments.

What you'll do

In this role, you will initiate projects through practical implementation, assessing and driving improvements in existing infrastructure. You will listen to client needs and develop technical roadmaps and effective solutions to support their challenging business objectives. By collaborating with business development, marketing, and functional development teams, you will help shape and build the cloud and infrastructure practices at Thoughtworks.

You will ensure and establish controls and processes for continuous delivery of applications, considering all stages of processes and their automation. Monitoring and ensuring that technical expectations for deliverables are consistently met on projects will be a key responsibility. You will act as a thought leader in DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure engineering both on client sites and at Thoughtworks, building trust and thoughtful partnerships with clients' CIOs, CTOs, and relevant teams.

You will propose innovative solutions to current constraints and business strategy adjustments, ensuring that your contributions lead to significant improvements in client operations.
