AccuWeather is seeking a Software Developer III to modernize core forecast processing systems and enhance data visualization. You'll work with Azure, C#, and SQL in a remote capacity or from State College, PA.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in software development with experience in modernizing core systems and methodologies, particularly in the context of data processing and visualization. Your technical knowledge spans multiple scripting languages and relational databases, enabling you to build and maintain reliable components that represent complex data structures effectively. You thrive in Agile environments and are comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with various teams and senior leadership.
You possess a deep understanding of cloud computing, with Azure certification being a significant plus. Your experience includes developing software that is easily testable, deployable, and maintainable in production environments. You are adept at writing and maintaining documentation for software changes and providing technical assistance to users and support staff.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of software that processes real-time weather content and model data. You will develop software components that ensure reliable processing and visualization of data, contributing to AccuWeather's suite of innovative consumer and enterprise products. Your responsibilities will include revising software for corrections and enhancements, as well as training end users and technical support staff on the software released into production.
You will work closely with multiple development teams to ensure that the software meets the needs of various stakeholders. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest technologies and methodologies in software development, ensuring that AccuWeather remains at the forefront of the industry. You will also be responsible for responding to inquiries regarding software errors and problems, providing timely solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
