Who you are
You are a recent graduate or a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a strong interest in venture capital and social impact investing. You possess strong investment judgment and financial analysis skills, allowing you to evaluate potential investments effectively. Your exceptional energy and commitment to social change drive you to seek opportunities that improve the lives of low-income populations. You thrive in conditions of uncertainty and can present investment ideas clearly in memoranda to senior management and advisors.
What you'll do
As a Summer Venture Capital Associate at Acumen America, you will support the team in finding, vetting, structuring, and managing investments in early-stage companies that address social challenges. You will conduct thorough research and analysis to produce valuable insights that inform investment decisions. Your role will involve collaborating with portfolio companies to understand their needs and how Acumen can best support their growth. You will also have the opportunity to engage with entrepreneurs and contribute to the development of market-based solutions for economic mobility.
What we offer
This internship offers a stipend of $850 per week for a duration of 10-12 weeks, providing you with hands-on experience in the venture capital field. You will work in a dynamic environment that values diversity and inclusion, with a focus on investing in companies led by founders of color and women.
