You have a strong background in managing partnerships, particularly within the payments industry, and understand the nuances of local payment methods in Japan. Your experience includes working closely with domestic payment providers, ensuring that partnerships are optimized for mutual success. You are a motivated individual who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys tackling unique challenges at scale.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively engage with both internal teams and external partners. Your ability to navigate complex relationships and drive strategic alignment is key to your success in this role. You are also familiar with the regulatory landscape surrounding payments in Japan, which enables you to act as a subject matter expert within your organization.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take ownership of Adyen's local payment method strategy in Japan, focusing on deepening relationships with key domestic payment partners such as PayPay and Rakuten Pay. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Commercial, Compliance, and Legal, to onboard new local payment methods and optimize the performance of existing integrations. Your responsibilities will include driving strategic alignment across teams and ensuring that Adyen's offerings meet the needs of merchants in the Japanese market.
You will also be responsible for analyzing the performance of local payment methods and making data-driven recommendations for improvements. Your insights will help shape Adyen's approach to local payment methods, ensuring that the company remains competitive in the rapidly evolving payments landscape in Japan. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the partnership are aligned with Adyen's overall business strategy.
