Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to tackle the challenges of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a valuable asset to our team. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that our data centers run smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems. You are detail-oriented and take pride in your ability to maintain and operate critical equipment, ensuring that our customers have continual access to the services they rely on.

You have experience with three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, and are familiar with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems. Your knowledge extends to cooling systems, including CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and air handlers. You are comfortable working with various mechanical systems and understand the intricacies of maintaining them to ensure optimal performance. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and operating electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning at peak performance. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime. You will be responsible for maintaining and operating mission-critical facilities, including stand-by diesel generators, cooling systems, and electrical distribution systems.

You will participate in routine maintenance and inspections, documenting your findings and collaborating with your team to implement necessary repairs or upgrades. Your role will also involve monitoring system performance and responding to alarms and alerts, ensuring that any potential issues are addressed promptly. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and reliability, contributing to the overall success of our data center operations.
