Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — your hands-on experience allows you to troubleshoot complex equipment effectively. You understand the importance of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and are committed to ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. Your expertise in electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, and UPSs, makes you a valuable asset to any team. Desirable
Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus — familiarity with diesel generators, cooling systems, and power distribution units will set you apart. A background in AWS infrastructure services or related technologies would be beneficial, as you will be supporting the backbone of cloud operations.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers — your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities. You will work with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are always ready to support operations. Your role will involve maintaining and troubleshooting three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, to ensure optimal performance. You will also be responsible for monitoring cooling systems, including CRAC units and centrifugal chillers, to maintain the ideal environment for our servers. Your hands-on approach will be essential in identifying and resolving issues quickly, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance operational efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of our services, ensuring that customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You will be involved in routine maintenance tasks, as well as emergency response situations, where your quick thinking and technical skills will be put to the test.
