Job Description
Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your experience includes maintaining and operating mission-critical facilities, ensuring that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced setting.
You have a background in electrical engineering, which equips you with the skills to work with three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and other critical components. Your mechanical engineering knowledge allows you to handle cooling systems, pumps, and motors effectively. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which helps you identify and resolve issues quickly.
You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with diverse groups of engineers and specialists — you understand that teamwork is essential for success in maintaining data center operations. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, and you are open to feedback that will help you improve your skills.
Desirable
Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to contribute to the maintenance of our facilities. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services will also be beneficial, as you will be part of a team that supports AWS data centers globally.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical systems within our data centers. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all equipment operates at peak performance. Your day-to-day tasks will include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures promptly.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that our data centers achieve an extraordinary 99.999% uptime — your expertise will directly contribute to the seamless operation of mission-critical technology infrastructure. You will be involved in hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment, which will require you to think critically and act swiftly to resolve issues.
You will also participate in team meetings and collaborate with your colleagues to share insights and best practices. Your contributions will help shape the operational strategies that keep our data centers running smoothly. As you gain experience, you will have opportunities to take on more responsibilities and advance your career within Amazon.
