You are a hands-on technician with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to tackle the challenges of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your expertise in troubleshooting and operating complex systems ensures that you can keep the digital world running smoothly and efficiently. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to achieving an extraordinary 99.999% availability in your work. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems.

You have experience with three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. Your familiarity with cooling systems such as CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and cooling towers allows you to maintain optimal operating conditions in data centers. You are detail-oriented and proactive, ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly and efficiently. You are also eager to learn and grow in your role, taking on new challenges as they arise.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data centers. You will operate and maintain stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring that backup power is always available. Your role will involve hands-on work with various systems, including pumps, motors, and air handlers, to ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally.

You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime and maintaining high availability. Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency of the data center operations, allowing Amazon to provide seamless digital experiences to customers worldwide. You will also participate in regular maintenance and inspections, documenting your findings and recommending improvements where necessary.

Amazon offers a competitive starting pay for this position, ranging from $31.00 to $55.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
