Job Description

Who you are

You are a hands-on technician with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in environments where you can troubleshoot and maintain critical infrastructure. Your expertise ensures that mission-critical technology operates seamlessly, contributing to an extraordinary 99.999% uptime. You have a keen understanding of data center operations and are familiar with the equipment that powers global digital experiences.

You are detail-oriented and proactive in identifying potential issues before they escalate — your troubleshooting skills are top-notch, allowing you to quickly diagnose and resolve problems. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, partnering with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to tackle the challenges of maintaining a data center.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our technology infrastructure — your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities. You will work with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring that all systems are operational and ready to support our data center needs.

You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs — your expertise will help ensure that our power systems are reliable and efficient. Additionally, you will manage cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, to maintain optimal operating conditions for our equipment.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers and specialists to support AWS Infrastructure Services — your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our global infrastructure. You will also participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay current with industry best practices.
