Who you are
You are a hands-on technician with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in environments where you can troubleshoot and maintain critical infrastructure. Your expertise in managing diesel generators, UPS systems, and three-phase electrical systems makes you a vital part of the team. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that the technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
You have experience working with cooling systems, including CRAC units and centrifugal chillers — your knowledge extends to pumps and motors, ensuring that all components of the data center are functioning optimally. You are detail-oriented and can quickly identify issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain operational excellence.
You enjoy collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists — your communication skills allow you to work effectively with others, sharing insights and learning from your peers. You are adaptable and ready to tackle the challenges that come with maintaining a large-scale data center.
What you'll do
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities — your role is essential in ensuring that all systems, including electrical and mechanical components, are operational. You will conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on equipment to avoid downtime.
You will work closely with the AWS Infrastructure Services team, supporting the design, planning, and operation of global infrastructure — your contributions will directly impact the reliability of services that customers depend on. You will be involved in hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems, including switch gear and PDUs, ensuring that all equipment meets operational standards.
You will also manage the operation of cooling systems, ensuring that temperature and humidity levels are maintained within optimal ranges — your attention to detail will help prevent any potential issues that could affect uptime. You will document all maintenance activities and collaborate with other technicians to share knowledge and improve processes.
