Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in radio frequency engineering, with experience in developing requirements and testing capabilities for communication systems. Your expertise includes working with WiFi, GNSS, and Bluetooth subsystems, and you are comfortable using specialized test equipment to validate RF performance.
You possess a solid understanding of link budget analysis and are skilled in selecting appropriate RF ICs and passive components. Your experience includes reviewing and optimizing PCB schematics and layouts, ensuring that designs meet performance specifications.
You are a collaborative team player, capable of working cross-functionally with verification and validation engineers to create comprehensive test plans. Your ability to troubleshoot RF issues from the sub-component to the system level is a key strength, and you enjoy providing leadership during test campaigns.
You have a keen eye for detail and are adept at preventing unintentional radiators from negatively impacting RF receiver sensitivity. Your experience collaborating with manufacturing test and operations teams ensures that device RF performance can be tested efficiently.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communication systems or Low Earth Orbit satellite technology would be a plus. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in RF design and testing is also desirable.
What you'll do
As an RF Engineer at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in the Amazon Leo initiative, which aims to provide broadband connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. You will develop requirements for RF subsystems and review designs to ensure they meet performance criteria.
You will perform link budget analysis and select appropriate RF ICs and passive components, optimizing PCB schematics and layouts for maximum efficiency. Your role will involve using specialized test equipment to validate RF performance from the sub-component level to the system level, ensuring that all designs are thoroughly tested.
You will collaborate closely with verification and validation engineers to create test plans that address system integration challenges effectively. Your leadership will guide other engineers and technicians during test campaigns, ensuring that all tests are executed efficiently and accurately.
In addition, you will work cross-functionally with other engineering teams to meet challenging form factor and industrial design requirements. Your expertise will help prevent unintentional radiators from negatively impacting RF receiver sensitivity, ensuring optimal performance.
You will also collaborate with manufacturing test and operations teams to review RF test fixture design and setup, enabling efficient testing of device RF performance to the correct specifications at the factory.
