Who you are

You have a strong background in cloud operations and experience as a systems engineer, ideally with 5+ years in the field. Your expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, and Lambda, allows you to effectively manage high-availability systems. You are skilled in collaborating with global teams and have a proven track record of enhancing operational efficiency and reliability.

You understand the complexities of Utility Computing and are passionate about delivering scalable services that meet customer needs. Your ability to influence technology evolution and oversee significant projects, such as the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud, sets you apart. You thrive in environments that require strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Desirable

Experience with high-availability architectures and a deep understanding of cloud computing principles are highly desirable. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements for EU customers will be an advantage. You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will spearhead the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud, working closely with AWS teams to ensure a successful rollout in 2025. You will oversee operations and development teams, focusing on delivering high-availability AWS services tailored for EU customers. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with technology leaders to enhance day-to-day operations and improve service availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AWS services, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that align with customer satisfaction and AWS's commitment to continual innovation. Your day-to-day tasks will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to ensure a seamless experience for users.

You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within your team. By leveraging your expertise, you will help build a best-in-class development engineering and operations team that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving cloud landscape.
