Job Description
Who you are
You have over 10 years of experience in power analysis and optimization, particularly in low power microarchitecture. Your strong analytical skills enable you to create early power estimations and perform what-if analyses during architectural evaluations. You are proficient in scripting with Python, which you use to develop flows and heuristics for power triage on large datasets. Your experience with tools like PowerArtist and PTPX allows you to support RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis effectively.
You are passionate about identifying power reduction opportunities in GPU workloads and implementing optimizations in both RTL and gates. Your background in product-level power budgeting further enhances your ability to contribute to the team. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy crafting elegant solutions to complex challenges.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for creating early power estimations and setting power targets for GPU designs. You will conduct analyses of various GPU workloads to identify opportunities for power reduction and evaluate the best power sign-off tests to improve coverage. Your work will involve supporting RTL and gate-level power rollup and analysis, ensuring that Appleβs next-generation processors are both high-performance and power-efficient.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement power optimizations, contributing to the overall success of Appleβs GPU development. Your insights will help shape the technology that fuels Appleβs devices, enabling customers to enjoy seamless experiences with their products. You will also be involved in developing flows and heuristics that accelerate power triage on large datasets, making a significant impact on the efficiency of the power analysis process.
