Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong analytical mindset and a background in power and micro-architecture, which allows you to tackle complex challenges in GPU designs. Your experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog equips you to create early power estimations and perform what-if analyses during the architectural evaluation stage. You are proficient in scripting with Python, enabling you to develop flows and heuristics that accelerate power triage on large datasets. You understand digital logic design principles, including power and timing implications, which are crucial for optimizing GPU performance.
You possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and your knowledge of VLSI power fundamentals enhances your ability to identify power reduction opportunities. You are detail-oriented and organized, ensuring that your analyses and optimizations are thorough and effective. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work well within a team, contributing to the development of next-generation, high-performance processors and SoCs.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the power activity of Appleโs GPU development by creating early power estimations and setting power targets. You will perform analyses on various GPU workloads to identify opportunities for power reduction and evaluate power optimizations in both RTL and gate-level designs. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing power sign-off tests to improve coverage and conducting power rollup and analysis at the RTL and gate levels. You will also be tasked with analyzing large power datasets to enhance the efficiency of power triage processes.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the power requirements align with the overall design goals of Appleโs products. Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring that Appleโs devices can handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. You will be part of a team that crafts and builds the technology fueling Appleโs devices, making a significant impact on the user experience.
