Who you are
You have a strong background in power analysis and optimization, particularly in the context of GPU products. Your experience includes working with RTL and gate level simulations, and you have a keen eye for detail that allows you to estimate the power impact of proposed features effectively. You are comfortable collaborating with architecture teams to enhance energy efficiency and have a solid understanding of machine learning applications in power optimization.
You possess excellent analytical skills, enabling you to simulate the consumption of existing components under various workloads and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement. Your technical expertise is complemented by your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, making you an effective collaborator across teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting power analysis and optimization for Apple's next-generation GPU products. You will estimate the power impact of proposed features and advise on potential improvements, setting power targets that align with product goals. Collaborating closely with the architecture team, you will work to improve the energy efficiency of new GPU features, ensuring that Apple products remain at the forefront of technology.
You will simulate the power consumption of existing GPU components using various workloads, analyzing the data to uncover opportunities for enhancing energy efficiency. Your work will involve reviewing architectural and micro-architecture specifications to assess their power impact, and you will utilize power analysis tools to generate and analyze data effectively. Throughout the development process, you will collaborate with micro-architecture, design, and implementation teams to implement improvements based on your findings.
