Overview
Apple is hiring a SoC Physical Design Engineer to work on the physical implementation of complex SoC designs. You'll collaborate with design teams to improve timing and create documentation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and experience with STA.
Job Description
Who you are
You hold a minimum Bachelor's degree and have some industry experience, ideally with a focus on Static Timing Analysis (STA). You are familiar with the intricacies of timing in large high-performance SoC designs, particularly in sub-micron technologies. Your understanding of noise, crosstalk, and on-chip variation (OCV) effects will be crucial in this role. You are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative projects at Apple.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions from netlist to tapeout for highly complex SoCs. You will work closely with design teams to understand and debug constraints, facilitating necessary logic changes to enhance timing. Your collaboration with the Physical Design team will involve highlighting issues and sharing best practices to ensure successful project outcomes. You will also assist in creating timing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for project tapeout, ensuring that all timing requirements are met. Additionally, you will create and maintain scripts and methodologies for analysis and runs, contributing to the efficiency of the design process. Your role will require deep analysis of timing paths to identify key issues and implement timing infrastructure that supports the overall design goals.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking products that redefine industries. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
