Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in audio-visual technology, particularly in installation and project management. Your ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints sets you apart, allowing you to effectively support project managers and lead installation teams. You are skilled in using hand and power tools for various installation tasks, including soldering and termination of connectors like XLR, RJ45, fiber-optic, and coaxial. Your experience with AV Rack fabrication and professional cable management demonstrates your attention to detail and commitment to quality.
You thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable acting as a customer liaison on-site, ensuring that all project directives are met. Your strong communication skills enable you to coordinate effectively with other trades on-site, and you are adept at managing on-site change requests. You have a solid understanding of testing point-to-point cabling and the functionality of AV systems, which is crucial for ensuring successful project outcomes.
Desirable
Experience with programming changes to DSPs or room processors is a plus, as is familiarity with configuring IP addressable devices for network communication. Your ability to create, track, and complete project punchlists showcases your organizational skills and commitment to project completion. A full clean driving license and US Passport/Work Authorization are essential for this role, given the national and occasional international travel requirements.
What you'll do
As a Senior Lead AV Technician at DMS, you will perform installation tasks as outlined in the projectβs Scope of Works (SOW). You will support the Project Manager by supervising the installation team, communicating daily job site status, and completing required job documentation. Your role will involve direct interaction with customers on-site, ensuring that their needs are met and that any changes are communicated to the Project Manager for confirmation.
You will utilize your technical skills to work with various hand and power tools, fabricating AV Racks according to elevation drawings and ensuring professional cable management. Testing point-to-point cabling and the functionality of systems will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will supporting engineers or programmers with minor programming changes to DSPs or room processors. You will also be responsible for configuring IP addressable devices to establish communication on the network, ensuring seamless integration of AV systems.
Your role will require you to create and manage project punchlists, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards. You will also be involved in writing and editing code for DSP systems, including Biamp, Qsys, and Shure, contributing to the overall functionality and performance of the AV solutions provided by DMS.
