Who you are

You have extensive experience as an AV Technician, particularly in installation tasks and project management support. Your ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints is second nature, allowing you to effectively communicate with project managers and clients on-site. You are physically fit and capable of lifting equipment as required, and you possess a full clean driving license and a US Passport for potential travel.

Your technical skills include proficiency in using hand and power tools for system installations, including soldering and termination of connectors such as XLR, RJ45, fiber-optic, and coaxial. You have experience fabricating AV racks according to elevation drawings, ensuring professional cable management throughout the installation process. Your familiarity with testing point-to-point cabling and the functionality of AV systems is crucial for ensuring quality installations.

You are comfortable working with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations and have experience supporting engineers or programmers with minor programming changes to DSPs or room processors. Your ability to configure IP addressable devices for network communication is essential in this role, as is your experience writing and editing code for DSP systems like Biamp and Qsys.

What you'll do

In this role, you will perform installation tasks as outlined in the project’s Scope of Works (SOW), ensuring that all work meets the high standards expected by DMS. You will support the Project Manager with site supervision, providing daily updates on job site status and completing necessary documentation. Acting as a customer liaison, you will communicate effectively with clients and direct any on-site change requests to the Project Manager for confirmation.

You will coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure seamless integration of AV systems and will utilize your technical skills to handle various installation-related tasks. Your responsibilities will include testing cabling and system functionality, as well as supporting engineers with programming changes. You will also create, track, and complete project punchlists to ensure all tasks are finalized before project completion.
