Who you are

You have extensive experience in audio-visual technology, particularly in installation and support roles. Your ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints sets you apart, allowing you to execute projects with precision. You thrive in a collaborative environment, acting as a customer liaison and ensuring that all installation tasks align with project scopes. Your hands-on experience with tools and equipment, including soldering and connector termination, is complemented by your knowledge of AV rack fabrication and cable management.

You are physically fit and prepared for the demands of the job, including lifting and travel. Your strong communication skills enable you to coordinate effectively with other trades on-site, ensuring smooth project execution. You are also familiar with configuring IP addressable devices and testing cabling and system functionality, which are critical to your role.

Desirable

Experience with programming changes to DSPs or room processors is a plus, as is familiarity with brands like Biamp, Qsys, and Shure. Your background in AV technology and project management will help you excel in this position.

What you'll do

In this role, you will perform installation tasks as outlined in the project’s Scope of Works (SOW). You will support the Project Manager by supervising the installation team, communicating daily job site status, and completing required documentation. Your responsibilities will include acting as a customer liaison on-site, directing on-site change requests to the Project Manager, and coordinating with other trades to ensure project success.

You will utilize hand and power tools for various installation tasks, including soldering and termination of connectors such as XLR, RJ45, fiber-optic, and coaxial. Fabricating AV racks according to elevation drawings with professional cable management will be a key part of your duties. You will also work with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations as needed and test point-to-point cabling and system functionality.

Additionally, you will support engineers or programmers with minor programming changes to DSPs or room processors and configure IP addressable devices to establish communication on the network. Creating, tracking, and completing a project punch list will be essential to your role, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
