DMS is hiring a Senior AV VC Technician to perform installation tasks and support project management in video collaboration solutions. You'll work with DSP systems and various AV technologies while traveling nationally and internationally.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in AV and video collaboration technologies, with a strong background in installation and project management. You are skilled in reading and interpreting electronic schematics and architectural blueprints, which allows you to execute installation tasks effectively. Your ability to communicate and coordinate with other trades on-site ensures that projects run smoothly and efficiently.
You are physically fit and capable of handling the demands of the job, including lifting and using hand and power tools for various installation tasks. Your experience includes working with connectors such as XLR, RJ45, fiber-optic, and coaxial, showcasing your technical proficiency in the field. You are also familiar with configuring IP addressable devices and testing point-to-point cabling, ensuring functionality and reliability in AV systems.
Desirable
Experience with DSP systems like Biamp and Qsys is a plus, as is familiarity with programming changes to DSPs or room processors. Your ability to write and edit code for these systems demonstrates your technical versatility and problem-solving skills. A full clean driving license and US Passport are required for this role, as it involves national and occasional international travel.
What you'll do
In this role, you will perform installation tasks as outlined in the projectβs Scope of Works (SOW), ensuring that all work meets the high standards expected by DMS. You will support the Project Manager with site supervision, providing daily job site status updates and completing required documentation. Acting as a customer liaison on-site, you will communicate effectively with clients and direct any on-site change requests to the Project Manager for confirmation.
Your responsibilities will include fabricating AV racks according to elevation drawings, ensuring professional cable management throughout the installation process. You will work closely with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations as needed, demonstrating your attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Testing the functionality of systems and ensuring proper communication on the network will be key aspects of your role. You will also support engineers or programmers with minor programming changes, showcasing your collaborative spirit and technical expertise. This position requires a proactive approach to creating, tracking, and completing project punch lists, ensuring that all tasks are finalized to the client's satisfaction.
