What you'll do

As the Vice President of Data Science at Five9, you will take complete ownership of the technical and operational direction of the data science organization. You will lead a talented team responsible for research, experimentation, data collection, and analysis, all aimed at enhancing the performance of Five9’s AI products. Your role will involve setting the technical direction for the team, guiding them on methodologies, practices, and algorithms that are critical to the success of your projects.

You will evaluate and select AI agent architectural frameworks, ensuring that your team has the best tools at their disposal. You will also be responsible for the evaluation and comparison of various LLM models, both commercial and open-source, to determine the most effective solutions for your needs. Your expertise in model fine-tuning and prompt engineering will be essential as you work to optimize models for specific tasks and ensure they deliver maximum value.

In addition to technical leadership, you will play a key role in growing the data science team to meet the increasing demand for its capabilities. This will involve mentoring team members, fostering a culture of innovation, and encouraging collaboration across departments. You will work closely with product teams to ensure that the insights generated by your team are translated into actionable strategies that benefit Five9’s customers.
