Customer Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms, and you are comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders or executive leaders. You possess experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops, which allows you to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

You have a strong understanding of security concepts, including encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and penetration testing. Your experience includes selling technical solutions in areas such as infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data management, data analytics, cloud AI, networking, migrations, and security. You are adept at driving the entire business cycle, from defining delivery and consumption plans to transitioning them for execution.

Desirable

While not required, experience in building long-term technical strategies to uncover new workloads with customers and migrating applications and services to cloud platforms would be beneficial. Your ability to maintain awareness of progress against delivery plans and support cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead technical engagements during the solution phase and facilitate post-sales transitions by supporting pricing activities and transitioning final delivery plans to implementation teams. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and help them leverage Google Cloud technologies to transform their businesses. Your responsibilities will include maintaining awareness of progress against delivery plans and providing support to cross-functional teams throughout the implementation process.

You will also engage in customer workshops, demonstrating the capabilities of Google Cloud products and helping clients understand how to best utilize these technologies for their specific needs. Your role will require you to collaborate with various teams within Google Cloud to ensure that customer expectations are met and exceeded, driving satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
