Job Description
Who you are
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. You have experience in silicon validation, bringing up, characterizing, and qualifying silicon or hardware systems. Your background includes developing or operating functional tests for silicon validation, showcasing your technical expertise in this area.
You may also have a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a focus on computer architecture. Your experience extends to developing firmware, embedded software, or functional tests for silicon validation, demonstrating your ability to work on complex hardware systems. You are familiar with high-speed interfaces, ASIC interfaces, memory systems (HBM), and power system features, particularly in high-power ASICs.
Your scripting skills in programming languages like Python enable you to automate tasks and enhance validation processes. You are passionate about shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push technological boundaries.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration by driving the development of cutting-edge TPU technology that powers Google's most demanding applications. You will be part of a team that develops custom silicon solutions, focusing on the integration of TPU architecture within AI/ML-driven systems.
Your responsibilities will include performing long-term system characterization and debugging to root-cause failures, providing feedback to improve features like power management quality, performance, and reliability across generations of designs. You will also engage in pre-silicon prototyping platforms and post-silicon bringup and production, ensuring that the silicon meets the required specifications.
You will design, develop, operate, and maintain software-based validation tests, contributing to the overall success of the Cloud Innovation Infrastructure (CI2) Platform Enablement team. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of Google's custom ASICs, helping to bring them from concept through to production.
