Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with 3 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs. Your background includes triaging technical issues or software development, and you have experience creating content for technical audiences, such as developer documentation or IT administration playbooks.
You are proficient in writing, reading, and debugging code in languages like Java, C, C++, Python, or Go. You have a solid understanding of distributed systems and are familiar with common solutions and design patterns. Your experience extends to web technologies, including HTTP, HTML, and DNS, which are essential for this role.
You have a knack for developing developer tools, such as automation, testing, and debugging solutions. Your experience in crisis response or escalation management across multiple teams showcases your ability to influence the momentum of incident response for critical customer issues. You are skilled in using techniques like packet capture and analysis to troubleshoot network latency and performance issues at the packet level.
Your knowledge of public cloud services and infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is a significant asset. You understand networking fundamentals, including Load Balancing, Cloud Storage, and TCP/IP, and have experience with system and network administration at the Linux or Unix level.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as a subject-matter expert for internal stakeholders, helping to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud. You will understand customer issues and advocate for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Engineering, to find ways to enhance the product and drive production.
You will work as part of a dedicated team of developers and consultants, ensuring 24-hour customer support globally. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting technical issues, providing high-touch support to customers, and collaborating with various teams to improve service delivery.
You will also create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that it is accessible and useful for both internal teams and external customers. Your role will involve analyzing customer feedback and technical challenges to identify areas for improvement in Google Cloud services.
