Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables. Your background includes 2 years in a data-intensive role such as threat intelligence, data science, trust and safety, or fraud analysis. You are proficient in SQL and Python, and you have experience with scripting languages and data analysis. Your problem-solving and critical thinking skills are excellent, and you pay attention to detail in an ever-changing environment. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to explain technical issues clearly to stakeholders at different levels.

Desirable

A Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is preferred. Experience in cybersecurity, incident response, threat intelligence, or threat detection will set you apart. Familiarity with metrics design, process design, or automation in the adversarial space is also advantageous.

What you'll do

As a Security Engineering Analyst, you will be on the front lines, diving deep into active security incidents and analyzing data to understand threats. Your mission is to protect Google accounts and products from a wide range of threats and abuse. You will respond to critical incidents, analyze large amounts of data to programmatically find and close vulnerabilities in our protections, and use your automation and AI skills to enhance our response efficiency. You will partner with the broader team, Product Manager, and Engineering to identify, prioritize, and develop strong strategies against the most pressing and novel threats. Additionally, you will perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage and holidays.
