Overview
HubSpot is hiring a Principal Solutions Engineer to lead technical strategy for complex sales opportunities. You'll work closely with Account Executives and engage with senior customer stakeholders. This role requires strong technical leadership and experience in pre-sales engagements.
Job Description
Who you are
You have extensive experience in solutions engineering, particularly in complex sales environments — your ability to navigate long sales cycles and balance technical and business priorities sets you apart. You thrive in collaborative settings, valuing trust and diverse perspectives while empowering your team to lead with autonomy and purpose.
As a Principal Solutions Engineer, you possess a deep understanding of enterprise-scale architectures and multi-product solutions — your technical expertise allows you to influence internal strategies and standards effectively. You are a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders, ensuring that their long-term success is at the forefront of your efforts.
You excel in leading advanced pre-sales engagements, demonstrating your ability to secure technical wins on large, complex opportunities — your strategic mindset enables you to shape how solutions are architected and sold. You are comfortable engaging with diverse external systems, ensuring seamless integrations that meet customer needs.
Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences — you understand the importance of building relationships and trust with customers and internal teams alike. You are driven by a mission to solve for the customer, not just for today's deal, but for their long-term success.
Desirable
Experience with HubSpot's products and services is a plus, as is familiarity with various integration technologies — your background in technical sales or solutions engineering will help you excel in this role. You are adaptable and open to learning, always seeking to improve your skills and knowledge in the field.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own and drive the technical strategy for complex, high-impact opportunities from discovery through close — partnering closely with Account Executives, you will secure technical wins while elevating deal execution standards across the broader team. You will lead rigorous pre-sales engagements, ensuring that enterprise-scale architectures and multi-product HubSpot solutions are effectively communicated to customers.
You will navigate long sales cycles, balancing technical, business, and organizational priorities to secure wins on large, complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities — your ability to influence internal strategies will be crucial in shaping how the team approaches these challenges. You will serve as a technical and strategic leader within the Solutions Engineering organization, impacting not just individual deals but the overall success of the team.
What we offer
At HubSpot, we foster a culture of trust, psychological safety, and collaboration — you will be part of a global team united by a shared mission to solve for the customer. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and the unique contributions each team member brings.
You will have the opportunity to work remotely while being part of a dynamic and supportive team — we believe in empowering our employees to lead with autonomy and accountability. Join us in making a meaningful impact on our customers' success and shaping the future of our Solutions Engineering team.
