Kong is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive to drive growth by developing and executing sales strategies for enterprise customers. This role requires a strong background in sales and account management, ideally within open source or enterprise software environments.

Who you are
You have a successful background in sales and account management, ideally within open source or similar enterprise software environments. You are committed to driving growth and have experience in landing new clients, retaining existing customers, and expanding accounts for early-stage enterprise products. You understand the importance of building and maintaining a robust pipeline that drives long-term growth and are comfortable owning the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
You excel at collaborating with internal teams, including product, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a seamless sales experience and alignment on customer needs. You are skilled at identifying customer pain points and aligning solutions to address these, delivering customized product demos and presentations tailored to specific business needs. Building and nurturing relationships with C-level executives is second nature to you, and you thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting.
Desirable
Experience in enterprise software sales, particularly in open source environments, is a plus. Familiarity with cloud API technologies and a passion for enabling companies to become API-first will set you apart. You are adaptable and eager to learn, understanding that not every candidate checks every box but are still interested in the role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop and execute sales strategies targeting enterprise customers, focusing on building and maintaining a robust pipeline that drives long-term growth. You will own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial outreach to contract negotiations and closing deals, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Collaboration with internal teams will be key to ensuring a seamless sales experience and alignment on customer needs.
You will identify customer pain points and align our solutions to address these, delivering customized product demos and presentations tailored to their specific business needs. Building and nurturing relationships with C-level executives will be a critical part of your role, as you work to expand our customer base and drive account growth. You will also be responsible for tracking sales metrics and reporting on your progress to the leadership team, ensuring transparency and accountability in your sales efforts.
