OpenAI is hiring an Account Director for their State and Local Government team to drive key opportunities through the sales cycle. You'll collaborate with researchers and engineers to help government customers leverage AI products. This role requires a blend of technical understanding and strategic vision.

Who you are
You have a strong background in managing key accounts, particularly within the state and local government sector. Your experience includes developing and executing comprehensive strategies tailored to government customers, ensuring they understand the transformative impact of AI on their missions. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including researchers and engineers, to deliver value-driven solutions. You are adept at navigating the complexities of government sales cycles, from pipeline generation to closure, and you have a strategic vision that aligns with OpenAI's mission to benefit humanity through AI.
Desirable
Experience in the technology sector, particularly in AI or machine learning, is a plus. Familiarity with government procurement processes and the ability to build strong partnerships with government agencies will set you apart. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment and are open to relocation if necessary.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage a focused set of key state and local government accounts, driving opportunities through the entire sales cycle. You will collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and solution strategists to help government customers advance their missions through AI. Your responsibilities will include developing strategic partnerships, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored solutions that leverage OpenAI's capabilities.
