Who you are

You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. You have experience designing, coding, testing, and verifying FPGAs and/or ASICs, demonstrating a strong foundation in hardware engineering. Your coding skills include proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog, with C or C++ knowledge being a plus. You are familiar with RTL synthesis and have experience writing timing, area, and other relevant constraints. Your background includes working with digital simulators and self-checking test benches, and you have experience supporting post-silicon bring-up and debugging. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with software engineers to solve complex trading problems.

What you'll do

As an FPGA Engineer at Optiver, you will be responsible for building hardware-based trading systems that range from low latency algorithms to high bandwidth computation. You will own all aspects of the development process, from ideation to implementation, creating bespoke solutions to complex trading problems. Your work will directly impact the stability of the market, as you will develop systems that have little room for failure. You will collaborate closely with Traders to understand their needs and translate them into effective engineering solutions. Your role will involve applying a disciplined and scientific approach to engineering, ensuring that the solutions you create are simple and well-architected. You will be part of a team that values quality and takes pride in delivering impactful solutions quickly, often within days or weeks rather than months or years.
