Overview

Paytm is hiring a Territory Sales Manager to oversee sales and distribution in Bangalore. You'll be responsible for merchant acquisition and team management, requiring 5+ years of relevant experience.

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in sales, particularly in managing teams and driving business growth in the financial services sector. Your background includes working in domains such as NBFC, Fintech, Banking, Telecom, Insurance, Consumer durables, and FMCG. You are familiar with the local market dynamics and have strong networking capabilities, which enable you to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Being fluent in Kannada is essential for this role, as it allows you to connect effectively with local merchants and clients.

You possess a strong understanding of sales strategies and distribution channels, which you have successfully leveraged to grow market share in your previous roles. Your experience includes recruiting and training sales teams, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet their targets and deliver results. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and are comfortable traveling extensively within your assigned territory to achieve business objectives.

What you'll do

As a Territory Sales Manager at Paytm, you will be responsible for the sales and distribution efforts in your designated geography. Your primary goal will be to grow distribution and market share by acquiring new merchants and managing existing relationships. You will lead a team of 15-20 field executives, ensuring they are actively engaged in the market and meeting their sales targets.

You will identify and recruit talented sales professionals to strengthen your team, aligning their efforts with the overall business strategy. Daily, you will oversee the team's performance, providing guidance and support to ensure they are effectively executing their responsibilities. You will also be responsible for key account management, ensuring that major clients receive the attention and service they require to foster long-term partnerships.

In this role, you will report directly to the Area Sales Manager, collaborating closely to align on strategic initiatives and performance metrics. Your ability to analyze market trends and adapt your strategies accordingly will be crucial in driving success in your territory. You will also be expected to maintain a high level of hygiene in day-to-day operations, ensuring that all processes are followed and that your team is well-prepared to meet the demands of the market.
