Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering management, with a focus on building scalable big data architectures. Your experience includes leading teams and guiding developers in their day-to-day tasks, ensuring that projects align with client initiatives and business requirements. You are detail-oriented and a self-starter, capable of interfacing with clients at various levels, including CIOs and VPs, to understand their strategic needs.
You possess a solid understanding of programming principles and have hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java and Python. Your technical expertise extends to big data technologies, where you have architected, developed, and maintained solutions that handle massive datasets. You thrive in an agile environment and are familiar with the Hadoop ecosystem, including tools like HDFS, MapReduce, Oozie, Hive, Impala, and Spark.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Manager at Sigmoid, you will lead a team dedicated to building a highly-scalable and extensible big data platform. Your role will involve designing, developing, and evolving distributed components that are fault-tolerant and capable of handling large-scale data processing.
