Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in providing technical support to manufacturing teams. Your expertise includes installing and integrating air monitoring devices and calibrating various EHS instrumentation. You are skilled in executing industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts against human health thresholds, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
You possess a thorough understanding of hazard analysis and can qualify personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements through in-depth reviews of consensus agency standards such as NIOSH and ANSI. Your attention to detail allows you to monitor air filtration efficacy and perform scheduled preventative maintenance effectively.
You are proactive in conducting safety inspections and addressing deficiencies to mitigate risks. Your experience includes documenting job hazard assessments (JHAs) and facilitating employee safety training, ensuring that all team members are well-informed about safety protocols. You are also prepared to play an active role in emergency response planning, demonstrating your commitment to workplace safety.
Desirable
Experience with incident investigations and providing recommendations for corrective actions is a plus. Familiarity with EHS signage design and deployment throughout manufacturing locations will enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be a tactical extension of the EHS engineering team, reinforcing safe work conditions for SpaceX employees. You will install air monitoring devices and integrate associated PLC hardware, ensuring that all equipment functions optimally. Your responsibilities will include calibrating and servicing a wide array of EHS instrumentation, as well as executing industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts against established health thresholds.
You will design and deploy high-resolution EHS signage throughout SpaceX locations, ensuring that safety information is clearly communicated. Additionally, you will qualify PPE requirements through comprehensive hazard analysis and review of consensus agency standards, contributing to a safer work environment.
Monitoring air filtration efficacy and performing scheduled preventative maintenance will be key aspects of your role. You will conduct functional testing of active and passive machine guarding devices across various applications, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Documenting job hazard assessments (JHAs) and performing safety inspections will be essential to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
You will also conduct incident investigations, providing recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Your active participation in emergency response planning will ensure that the team is prepared for any unforeseen events. Facilitating employee classroom safety training will be part of your responsibilities, helping to cultivate a culture of safety within the organization.
