SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to provide technical EHS support to satellite manufacturing teams. You'll ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement health and safety programs. This role requires expertise in environmental and occupational safety.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Engineer with a strong background in both environmental and occupational safety. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a hands-on approach to ensuring safety in complex operations. Your expertise includes compliance with regulations established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH, and you are skilled in conducting job hazard assessments and implementing health and safety policies.
You have a proven track record of leading incident investigations, performing root cause analysis, and developing corrective actions. Your ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and technician teams allows you to perform detailed safety reviews of hazardous operations, ensuring safe execution at all times. You are committed to fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
Desirable
Experience with safety programs related to satellite manufacturing or aerospace industries is a plus. Familiarity with HAZCOM, hazmat handling, cryogenics, and compressed gases will enhance your ability to contribute to our team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work closely with test engineers and technician teams to perform detailed safety reviews of complex hazardous operations. You will lead or assist in all aspects of incident investigations, including initial follow-up, root cause analysis, and corrective action development and closure. Your responsibilities will also include developing and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH.
You will collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, you will implement and develop safety and health programs, including OSHA general industry and construction standards. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our satellite manufacturing teams operate safely and efficiently, contributing to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
