Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience in precision inspection, particularly in aerospace manufacturing. Your expertise includes reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifically GD&T requirements, which allows you to ensure that all parts meet stringent design specifications. You are proactive in communicating with production teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product quality. Your experience with CMM programming and PC-DMIS is essential for performing complex inspections and maintaining measurement programs.

You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of quality management systems and compliance with industry standards. Your ability to document non-conformances and support continual improvement initiatives demonstrates your commitment to quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes. You thrive in a cross-functional environment and are comfortable collaborating with various teams to achieve common goals.

What you'll do

As a Precision Inspector at SpaceX, you will be responsible for completing surface plate work and inspecting machined aerospace parts to verify compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. You will perform in-process inspections, including visual and dimensional checks, to ensure that all components conform to design requirements. Your role will involve documenting non-conformances and working closely with production teams to address quality issues and implement improvements.

You will create, maintain, and verify CMM programs used for measuring manufactured and supplied parts, ensuring accuracy and reliability in inspections. Additionally, you will support the quality management system by assessing compliance with company policies and industry standards. Your expertise in GD&T will be crucial in interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring that all inspections are conducted according to established methods. You will also lead initiatives aimed at reducing defects and enhancing product quality through lean manufacturing practices.
