Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 2 years of quality inspection experience, particularly in machining or aerospace environments. Your background includes completing surface plate work and performing complex inspections following standardized methods. You are proactive in interacting with production teams to improve products and reduce defects, and you have a keen eye for detail when it comes to verifying that products conform to design specifications.

You are skilled in documenting non-conformances and have experience supporting quality management systems. Your familiarity with lean manufacturing initiatives and continual improvement processes makes you a valuable asset in any quality assurance role. You are comfortable working in a cross-functional environment and have the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

What you'll do

As a Precision Inspector at SpaceX, you will be responsible for inspecting machined aerospace parts according to applicable drawings and work order specifications. You will complete in-process inspections, including visual and dimensional checks, to ensure that all parts meet stringent quality standards. Your role will involve creating, maintaining, and verifying CMM programs used for measurements, as well as conducting documentation reviews to ensure compliance with certifications and specifications.

You will actively engage with production teams to address quality-related issues and contribute to the development of solutions that enhance product quality. Your expertise in PC-DMIS programming will be essential as you perform inspections using DCC CMMs. You will also lead initiatives aimed at improving processes and reducing defects, fostering a culture of quality and excellence within the organization.
