Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Development Test Specialist to support testing of vehicle and spacecraft designs. You'll work closely with engineers to design test setups and perform electronic testing. This role requires 3+ years of hands-on technical experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience working in a hands-on technical position. With over a year of experience performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices, you are well-versed in the intricacies of test operations. Your background includes experience in research and development or other fast-paced technical environments, and you possess the ability to read electro-mechanical schematics to accomplish checkouts. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of hydraulic load control and hydro/pneumatic pressure control, ensuring safe handling of flight parts.

What you'll do

As a Development Test Specialist at SpaceX, you will assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures and setups for both small and large tests. You will independently fabricate instrumentation and wire harnesses for ground support electro-mechanical test equipment and spaceflight harnesses that connect to test articles. Collaborating closely with engineers, you will perform tests according to established procedures and provide data and preliminary test results. Your role will also involve documenting test procedures, ensuring that all processes are clear and reproducible. You will be an integral part of the R&D focused group, contributing to the testing of the latest vehicle and spacecraft designs, and helping to push the boundaries of space exploration.
