Toptal is seeking a General Manager for a new business unit to drive growth and establish product-market fit. You'll leverage your commercial experience to optimize operations and achieve profitability. This role is fully remote and requires strong leadership skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong commercial and entrepreneurial background, with experience in building businesses from the ground up. Your ability to analyze market opportunities and develop effective strategies is key to your success. You thrive in a remote work environment and are comfortable using digital collaboration tools to manage workflows independently. You are results-driven, focusing on revenue growth and operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with broader company goals.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to work closely with Executive and Senior Leadership to represent the brand effectively. Your experience in managing P&L and optimizing supply and demand will be crucial as you lead this new business line. You are not just a manager; you are an individual contributor who enjoys being hands-on in driving the business forward.

What you'll do

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of a new business line at Toptal. Your primary objective will be to ensure the success of the business, measured by revenue growth, pipeline health, and gross margin. You will work closely with various teams to build and test new offerings, using client feedback to achieve product-market fit quickly. Your role will involve regular analysis of market and industry opportunities to identify those with the highest potential for growth.

You will lead the creation of marketing strategies and collaborate with Talent Operations to optimize the business's operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include developing a comprehensive business strategy, managing the business's P&L, and ensuring that all aspects of the business align with Toptal's broader growth goals. You will also be expected to attend virtual team meetings regularly and manage your workflows independently, ensuring that you meet deadlines and deliver results.
