Who you are

You have 7+ years of strong technical experience, ideally managing large-scale voice operations or DevOps teams — you've led teams that focus on reliability, performance, and scalability in voice technology. With 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams, you understand the nuances of team dynamics and the importance of mentorship in fostering talent.

Your knowledge of SIP stack, call flows, and voice troubleshooting is extensive — you can analyze SIP signaling and call flows to identify issues and implement effective fixes. You thrive at the intersection of voice technology, operations, and innovation, and you are passionate about enhancing communication solutions for businesses.

You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional partners, including Network, Cloud, Security, and Engineering — you know how to deliver end-to-end voice solutions that meet enterprise needs. Your hands-on experience with configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SBCs and policy servers makes you a valuable asset to any team.

You are committed to strengthening voice systems through automation, monitoring, and proactive performance improvements — you understand that exceptional call quality and reliability are paramount in cloud communications. You ensure that all systems align with cloud and enterprise security best practices, keeping the integrity of operations intact.

Desirable

Experience with unified communications, contact center solutions, and communications APIs is a plus — you are familiar with the latest trends and technologies in the voice landscape and are eager to innovate.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Team Lead for Vonage's Core Voice Platform, you will lead and mentor a global voice operations team focused on reliability, performance, and scalability. You will manage daily operations, including incident response and on-call coordination, ensuring that your team is prepared to tackle any challenges that arise.

You will configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SBCs, policy servers, and other voice infrastructure components — your technical expertise will guide your team in resolving complex issues swiftly. Analyzing SIP signaling and call flows will be a regular part of your role, as you work to identify issues and implement fixes that enhance system performance.

Collaboration will be key in your role, as you partner with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive voice solutions — you will work closely with Network, Cloud, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. You will also engage with vendors like Ribbon for advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, and platform enhancements, ensuring that your systems are always at the cutting edge of technology.

Your focus on automation and proactive performance improvements will help strengthen our voice systems — you will implement monitoring solutions that provide insights into system performance and reliability. Ensuring that all systems align with cloud and enterprise security best practices will be a critical aspect of your responsibilities, as you work to maintain the integrity and security of our voice operations.
