Job Description
Who you are
You have a higher technical education in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and over 8 years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering. Your expertise in machining and manufacturing processes allows you to analyze CAD models and technical drawings effectively, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency. You possess strong analytical skills and can communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Your experience includes calculating manufacturing costs, providing recommendations on manufacturing processes, and delivering high-quality quotes in a timely manner. You are detail-oriented and organized, capable of maintaining quote databases and ensuring timely updates. Your ability to collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams enhances your effectiveness in this role, as you clarify details and support process automation initiatives.
What you'll do
In this role, you will analyze CAD models and technical drawings to assess manufacturability and calculate costs related to materials and machining hours. You will provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to ensure accurate and timely quoting for customers. Your responsibilities will include reviewing 3D models and 2D drawings, organizing RFQs, and documenting calculations for the Sales/Commercial team. You will also support process automation initiatives and workflow optimization to enhance efficiency.
You will be expected to deliver high-quality and accurate quotes ideally within 1–2 working hours, ensuring that all calculations are documented and transferred to the appropriate teams. Your role will require you to maintain quote databases and ensure timely updates, contributing to the overall efficiency of the quoting process. You will collaborate closely with Sales and Engineering teams to clarify details and provide recommendations on manufacturing processes where needed.
