Who you are

You have a higher technical education in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, and bring over 5 years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering. Your expertise in machining and fabrication processes allows you to assess manufacturability effectively and provide valuable recommendations. You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable analyzing CAD models and technical drawings in English, ensuring that you can communicate complex ideas clearly.

Your experience has equipped you with the ability to calculate manufacturing costs accurately, considering materials, machining hours, and post-processing. You understand the importance of delivering high-quality and timely quotes, ideally within 1-2 working hours, and you thrive in environments where precision and efficiency are paramount. Your strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with Sales and Engineering teams, ensuring that all details are clarified and documented.

What you'll do

As an Application Engineer at Xometry, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Sales and Engineering teams. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze drawings and CAD models, providing feedback on manufacturability and ensuring that all calculations are documented and transferred to the Sales team. You will also be responsible for organizing RFQs and clarifying details with both Sales and Engineering teams, maintaining quote databases, and ensuring timely updates.

In addition to your analytical duties, you will support process automation initiatives and workflow optimization, contributing to the overall efficiency of our quoting process. Your deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes will be invaluable as you provide recommendations on manufacturing processes where needed. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our customers receive accurate and timely quotes, helping to drive the success of Xometry's digital marketplace.
