Job Description
Who you are
You have 8+ years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering, with a strong background in analyzing CAD models and technical drawings. Your expertise in manufacturing processes allows you to assess manufacturability and provide valuable feedback to ensure accurate quoting for customers.
You possess a higher technical education in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, which equips you with the necessary skills to calculate manufacturing costs and recommend optimal processes. Your analytical mindset and attention to detail enable you to deliver high-quality and accurate quotes in a timely manner.
Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams, ensuring that all details are clarified and documented. You are comfortable working in English and can articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
You are proactive in supporting process automation initiatives and workflow optimization, always looking for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy in quoting. Your ability to maintain quote databases and ensure timely updates is crucial in this role.
Desirable
Experience with CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to provide DFM feedback. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in manufacturing will further strengthen your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will analyze drawings and CAD models to assess manufacturability and calculate costs related to materials and machining hours. You will provide recommendations on manufacturing processes where needed, ensuring that all quotes are accurate and timely.
You will document and transfer calculations to the Sales/Commercial team, helping them understand the technical aspects of the quotes. Your role will involve reviewing 3D models and 2D drawings to provide manufacturability feedback, which is essential for successful quoting.
You will organize RFQs and clarify details with Sales and Engineering teams, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered for accurate quoting. Maintaining quote databases and ensuring timely updates will be part of your responsibilities, as you strive to deliver high-quality quotes ideally within 1–2 working hours.
Additionally, you will support process automation initiatives and workflow optimization, contributing to the overall efficiency of the quoting process. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in helping the team achieve its goals and meet customer expectations.
