Who you are

You have a higher technical education in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar field, and bring over 8 years of experience in metalworking or mechanical engineering. Your expert knowledge of machining and fabrication processes allows you to assess manufacturability effectively and provide valuable feedback. You possess strong analytical skills and can communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your experience includes analyzing CAD models and technical drawings, calculating manufacturing costs, and providing design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback. You are detail-oriented and can deliver high-quality and accurate quotes within tight timelines, ideally within 1-2 working hours. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Sales and Engineering teams to ensure that customer needs are met efficiently.

What you'll do

In this role, you will analyze drawings and CAD models to assess manufacturability and calculate costs associated with materials, machining hours, and post-processing. You will provide recommendations on manufacturing processes where needed and document your calculations to transfer them to the Sales/Commercial team. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing 3D models and 2D drawings for quoting and manufacturability feedback, organizing requests for quotes (RFQs), and clarifying details with Sales and Engineering teams.

You will maintain quote databases and ensure timely updates, supporting process automation initiatives and workflow optimization. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of the quoting process and the overall success of the Sales and Engineering teams. You will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in manufacturing to continuously improve the quoting process and customer satisfaction.
