Role Description

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Commercial Officer to lead our Invoice Finance product. This is a foundational leadership role where you will own the P&L, define our go-to-market strategy, and scale a high-performing commercial team, while leveraging Allica’s wider existing distribution capabilities.

You will balance hands-on deal execution with team leadership, personally closing major contracts while mentoring your team and refining our sales process. Your responsibility spans the entire commercial journey: from acquiring new clients to managing strategic accounts, ensuring we not only win key customers but also drive their long-term growth. A central part of this role is to build trusted, lasting partnerships with both broker introduced and direct clients, creating a position of being the market's preferred invoice finance partner.

You will collaborate closely with other teams across the business (including Risk, Compliance and Product) to refine our offering based on market feedback and ensure we stay ahead of the competitive and regulatory landscape. We need a proven leader with experience in launching and scaling complex financial products, who thrives in a high-energy, target-driven environment and is passionate about building and developing talented teams.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute on the go-to-market commercial strategy, and develop a deep understanding of our target customers and markets

  • Own and be responsible for hitting revenue targets and the P&L for the Invoice Finance division

  • Create a culture of high performance through clear objectives and KPI tracking

  • Build trusted relationships at all seniority levels of prospective clients; from strategic C-level to operational stakeholders

  • Lead and scale the Account Management team to develop and execute initiatives that boost customer retention, streamline operations, and elevate client satisfaction.

  • Identify and capitalise on new growth opportunities

  • Act as a player/coach who can lead and mentor junior members of the team, driving overall target delivery

  • Set up scalable internal sales processes to ensure we can deliver against our ambitious goals and continuously improve for high efficiency.

  • Work closely with Allica’s wider distribution channels / teams

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Relevant experience in Invoice Finance Lending

  • Experience in a Head Of/Director/Lead SME commercial sales role

  • A strong network in the broker and introducer market

  • A proven track record of owning and delivering against revenue targets in a go-to-market role

  • Understands risk frameworks and the credit risk associated with invoice finance

  • A strong people manager, mentor and coach with experience in hiring great talent

  • Highly organised, with solid process-building and project management skills

  • Enthusiasm about working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, mission-led environment

  • Able to be in the London 1-2 days per week (majority of time expected to ‘on the road’ broker and customer facing)
