Who you are
You hold a Bachelor's degree and have a foundational understanding of Static Timing Analysis (STA). You are eager to learn and grow in the field of physical design, particularly in the context of large high-performance SoC designs. You are familiar with the effects of noise, crosstalk, and on-chip variation (OCV) and are excited to apply this knowledge in a practical setting. You thrive in collaborative environments and are ready to work closely with design teams to debug constraints and facilitate logic changes.
You have a keen interest in the physical implementation of designs from netlist to tapeout, and you are motivated to contribute to the creation of timing ECOs for project tapeout. Your attention to detail will help you create and maintain scripts and methodologies for analysis and runs, ensuring that the design process is efficient and effective. You are committed to documenting your work and helping establish guidelines and specifications that will benefit the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions for a highly complex SoC. You will work with design teams to understand and debug constraints, facilitating logic changes to improve timing. Your collaboration with the Physical Design team will be crucial as you highlight issues and best practices that can enhance the design process. You will also help create timing ECOs that are essential for project tapeout, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary timing requirements.
You will engage in deep analysis of timing paths to identify key issues that could impact the performance of the SoC. Implementing timing infrastructure will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work to ensure that all designs are optimized for performance. Your role will also involve creating and maintaining documentation that outlines methodologies and guidelines for the team, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
