Who you are
You have a proven track record in sales, particularly in developing partnerships with local and regional merchants. Your experience includes managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can creatively engage prospects. You are comfortable with both inside sales and field-based selling, demonstrating flexibility in your approach to meet clients face-to-face when necessary.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively pitch DoorDash's offerings and build strong relationships with small- and mid-sized businesses. Your ability to identify and understand the needs of potential partners is key to your success in this role. You are also adaptable, ready to travel occasionally to meet clients and finalize partnerships.
What you'll do
As an Account Executive on the New Verticals team, you will be responsible for driving new business development by creating partnerships with local merchants in various segments including Grocery, Convenience, Liquor, Retail, and Flowers. You will lead the sales cycle, engaging in high-volume outreach to identify and pitch prospective merchants, ultimately closing high-priority deals. Your role will involve a mix of inside sales, where you will spend most of your time in an office or home-office setting, and field sales, where you will meet merchants in person to build relationships and finalize agreements.
You will report to the Sales Manager for New Verticals and will have opportunities for career development as the team grows. Your responsibilities will include managing the sales pipeline, tracking progress, and ensuring that you meet your sales targets. You will also collaborate closely with other team members to share insights and strategies that can enhance the team's overall performance.
