GoCardless is seeking an Account Executive to drive new business deals across North America. You'll work closely with marketing and partnerships to identify growth opportunities. This role requires strong sales skills and a proactive approach to business development.

Who you are
You have a proven track record in sales, ideally with experience in the payments or fintech industry — you understand the nuances of selling financial solutions and can navigate complex sales cycles with ease. Your ability to build relationships is key, as you will be engaging with a diverse range of clients from startups to established enterprises.
You are results-driven and thrive in a target-oriented environment — you enjoy the challenge of meeting and exceeding sales goals, and you have the analytical skills to assess market opportunities and adjust your strategies accordingly. You are comfortable working independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
Your communication skills are exceptional — you can articulate the value of GoCardless’s offerings clearly and persuasively, whether in written proposals or during presentations. You are also adept at using CRM tools to track your sales activities and manage your pipeline effectively.
Desirable
Experience in the North American market is a plus, as you will be focusing on this region to drive growth. Familiarity with direct debit and payment processing solutions will help you connect with potential clients more effectively.
What you'll do
As an Account Executive at GoCardless, you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities across the United States and Canada. You will leverage your sales expertise to uncover potential clients and develop tailored strategies to meet their needs. Collaborating closely with the marketing and partnerships teams, you will create targeted campaigns to attract new customers and expand into new verticals.
You will conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities, allowing you to position GoCardless as a leading solution in the payments space. Your role will involve engaging with prospects through various channels, including cold outreach, networking events, and industry conferences.
Once you establish contact with potential clients, you will guide them through the sales process, providing them with the information they need to make informed decisions. You will also be responsible for negotiating contracts and closing deals, ensuring that both the client’s and GoCardless’s interests are met.
In addition to your sales responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall strategy for growth in North America. This includes providing feedback to the product and marketing teams based on your interactions with clients, helping to shape the future direction of GoCardless’s offerings.
