Overview

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in business development, particularly in the tech and payments sectors. Your background includes developing strategies to grow businesses and winning new partnerships, especially in areas like credit cards, BNPL, and loyalty programs. You are comfortable presenting to executives and influencing both internal and external partners, demonstrating strong ownership and creativity in your approach.

Your experience in partner and business management has equipped you with the skills to create effective business strategies and assess program metrics. You possess a solid understanding of payments and processing, and you are knowledgeable about customer behaviors and program economics. You are a natural leader who earns trust in relationships and can influence outcomes effectively.

You excel in problem-solving and communication, finding practical solutions to complex challenges without compromising quality. Your entrepreneurial spirit drives you to seek out the best results for customers, and you thrive in environments that require innovative thinking and strategic planning.

Desirable

Experience in the travel or hospitality sectors would be a plus, as would familiarity with emerging payment technologies and trends. A background in fintech or banking can further enhance your candidacy, allowing you to leverage existing networks and insights.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be accountable for the strategy to grow Amazon's 3P payments business by developing partnerships and signing new deals with fintechs, banks, and travel/hospitality companies. You will lead initiatives that aim to create new revenue streams, ensuring that these efforts have a significant and measurable impact on the bottom line. Your responsibilities will include conducting market research to identify potential partners, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to foster long-term collaboration.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with Amazon's overall strategy. This includes collaborating with product, marketing, and technology teams to ensure that new partnerships are effectively integrated into existing systems and processes. You will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing program metrics to assess the success of partnerships and make data-driven decisions.

Your role will require you to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities, allowing you to adapt strategies as necessary. You will present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing the direction of the payments business and advocating for new initiatives.
