Who you are

You have a proven track record in sales, particularly in technology or software solutions — your experience includes successfully selling to commercial and mid-market customers, and you understand the nuances of the sales process in this sector. You possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met while driving revenue growth for your team.

You thrive in a collaborative environment — working closely with Solutions Engineers and Professional Services to ensure customer success is second nature to you. You are proactive in prospecting and developing a robust sales pipeline, demonstrating your ability to identify and qualify leads effectively.

Your leadership skills shine through as you take ownership of the entire sales process — from developing and presenting a compelling value proposition to closing deals. You are comfortable presenting to C-level executives and can articulate the benefits of Confluent's offerings clearly and persuasively.

You are a subject matter expert on Confluent's solutions and the competitive landscape — your knowledge allows you to position the product effectively against competitors, ensuring that you can address any concerns or questions that arise during the sales process. You are driven by results and are motivated to exceed your quarterly sales targets.

Desirable

Experience in the data streaming or cloud computing industry would be a plus, as would familiarity with the partner ecosystem. You are adaptable and open to feedback, always looking for ways to improve your approach and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

As an Account Executive at Confluent, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across large, diverse, and complex territories. You will proactively prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close a sales pipeline, ensuring that you meet and exceed your quarterly sales targets. Your role will involve owning the development and presentation of a compelling value proposition that resonates with potential clients.

You will collaborate closely with Solutions Engineers and Professional Services to ensure that customer success is achieved post-sale. This partnership will allow you to provide a seamless experience for clients, from initial contact through to implementation and beyond. You will also engage with the partner ecosystem, leveraging these relationships to enhance your sales efforts.

Your responsibilities will include presenting to C-level executives as required, showcasing your ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization. You will become a subject matter expert on all Confluent offerings, ensuring that you can address any questions or concerns that arise during the sales process. You will also keep abreast of the competitive landscape, allowing you to position Confluent's solutions effectively against competitors.
